Custodial Leaders will supervise in the absence of the Custodial Supervisor. Additionally, they will lead the community service workers and student custodians. The position will lead custodial operations for special events and work independently in other smaller campus recreation facilities with no direct supervision, using their skill set and problem solving abilities to complete all tasks. Perform routine work in cleaning and general upkeep of Campus Recreation buildings including offices, halls, conference rooms, classrooms, restrooms, and locker and shower rooms. Scrub and polish floors using heavy industrial-type powered scrubbing and buffing machines. Vacuum and clean carpets using industrial-type vacuum cleaners and carpet extractors. Mix cleaning solutions per instruction. Collect and dispose of refuse requiring heavy physical efforts. Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work at any Campus Recreation facility.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
High school diploma plus two years of custodial experience required; equivalent education/experience considered. Knowledge of custodial processes and supplies. Knowledge and skill to operate large cleaning equipment. Ability to understand cleaning chemicals and their application and dilution ratios. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate via email with supervisor on a regular basis. Ability to lead student and office/service staff during shift and special events.
Three years of custodial experience and one year of experience working special events. One year of supervisory experience. Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Outlook and Word. IEHA, ISSA or CMI training/certificates.
Posted Salary: $14.49/hr plus shift differential
