Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Procurement and Payment Services, the Director of Service Delivery and Special Projects will oversee the customer service, business office, eProcurement, supplier contracts, and marketing/communications/training functions. All of these functions must be performed both with a high degree of independence and with integrity. This position will maintain a close working relationships with all other units within Procurement and Payment Services as well as departments and schools across Northwestern.
Responsible for Customer Service unit, which will handle all incoming emails, phone calls etc. for all Procurement and Payment Services units.
Responsible for Business Office activities, which includes:
Cost accounting process for several purchasing related programs, including the Copier Management Program, Printing and Duplicating, Internal Moving Services, Lab Coat Laundry Services, Travel, Chicago campus catering, fleet, vehicle rental, etc.
Chicago fitness center program
Initiating requisitions and payment requests when necessary.
Responsible for procure to pay related technology, such as:
Manage 3rd party shopping tool
Maintain effective working relationships with departments and schools at Northwestern, especially to identify future partnership opportunities.
Represent Procurement and Payment Services at various internal meetings
Serve as representative of Northwestern to the vendor community.
Represent Northwestern at relevant industry conferences and events.
Maintain cutting edge knowledge of industries and analyzes trends and new developments as they may pertain to and affect Northwestern University.
Mediate resolution of issues and implement changes to prevent reoccurrence.
Provide input into policy, forms, newsletter, procurement strategy, web site, training, etc.
Bachelor’s degree in business and management or related field required.
Five to ten years of procurement related experience experience.
Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of purchasing, eprocurement, and customer service experience.
Proven record of effective relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated experience collaborating as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Strong computer skills, especially with word processing and spreadsheets.
Experience managing multiple people.
