Course Description: Scientific principles involved in normal speech production across all speech subsystems. Properties of the acoustic waveform, including acoustic phonetics for vowels and consonants. Basic speech instrumentation used to measure respiratory, phonatory, velopharyngeal/nasal, and pharyngeal/oral components. Theories of speech perception.
