The Student Success Coach will develop and implement intervention strategies designed to improve academic success and persistence of students at Danville Community College. Coordinate coaching interventions, and success and retention efforts with academic advising partners, as needed. Provide individualized support and success coaching for newly admitted students, first-term students, transfer students, students experiencing academic difficulty, and other student populations. Integrate academic success best practices and strategies, and specific coaching and academic counseling techniques to provide proactive, one-to-one student conversations that acknowledge the unique needs of all students.
• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. • A minimum of one year of professional experience working with students to promote student success or navigate educational systems OR a minimum of three years of experience being an advocate or navigator in a related field. • Demonstrated experience communicating complex processes and information via phone and email. • Proï¬ciency using online technologies and ability to learn and adapt to new tools. • Demonstrated excellent written and interpersonal communication skills with a high level of professionalism. • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize duties and navigate in a fast-paced environment.
