The Clinical Dietitian will develop and implement nutrition therapy for Preventive Cardiology and Integrative Health patients by evaluating nutrition parameters and selecting appropriate therapies to restore or maintain optimal nutritional status. The dietician will provide nutrition education and consultation for patients as a means of ensuring comprehensive care. The dietician will provide one on one consultations as well as teach group classes in nutrition. Services provided by the dietitian include but are not limited to: diet assessments, lab evaluations, and patient education. In addition, the incumbent is also responsible for process improvement and policy recommendations for all diet related issues. Incumbent will perform 4-8 consultations/week at the clinic. There may be a small research component. Position will be limited.
Knowledge of cultural customs as they related to health care and food preferences
Graduation from an accredited program in nutritional science
BS degree and internship accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Must be organized and able to re-prioritize tasks; must be able to multi-task
Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people, patients, staff, faculty, fellows and other professionals.
Three years of experience in a integrative health practice setting highly desirable
Special Conditions Required:
Must hold a Registered Dietitian certification
