Responsibilities The Senior System Administrator supports the configuration and day-to-day operations of UC Davis Health System IT Infrastructure output management and reporting, computing environment monitoring, certificate management, and other enterprise platform tools. The Senior System Administrator collaborates with a broad range of customers, partners, and key stakeholders in administrative and academic units to provide best in class Infrastructure support services. The incumbent will function as a resource and expert in IT Infrastructure enterprise tools required by mission critical applications for the Health System. Incumbent will possess extensive knowledge and best practices for IT Infrastructure tools.
Position should have UNIX (AIX), Windows and scripting knowledge.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, etc., or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Minimum of ten years of experience in information technology, specifically in an operational role.
Expert knowledge of the principles and practices within the field of Infrastructure support.
Extensive experience with system monitoring platforms, including the ability to analyze and determine the detailed requirements of monitoring probes as well as how implement them.
Extensive experience with architecture, deployment, and support of complex centralized printing systems.
Solid experience with architecture, deployment, and support of output management and reporting systems.
Solid experience with enterprise scheduling tools.
Solid experience with Windows, AIX and Linux.
Solid experience with scripting (i.e. UNIX Shell scripting, PowerShell, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to apply highly developed technical skills and knowledge to improve the effectiveness of the function.
Expert organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple complex enterprise wide projects.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders.
Strong ability to develop positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines and adapt to changes, delays and unexpected events. Tact, diplomacy and confidentiality to deal with confidential and sensitive material.
Ability to manage competing demands.
Provide leadership, make recommendations, and collaborate with software developers, system and network engineers/administrators, and other support staff.
Experience with Epic.
Experience with NOC operations.
Experience with Solarwinds monitoring tools and processes.
Experience with JAMS enterprise scheduling tool.
Experience with certificate management platforms and processes.
Experience with LRS VPSX.
Experience with LRS PagecenterX.
Experience with Innovate Audit.
Industry certifications for any of the above.
