Posting Summary: The Tennessee State University Department of Languages, Literature, & Philosophy invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2021. We seek candidates to teach all level courses for Spanish. The faculty member will be involved in all aspects of the academic college life: Teaching, Service, and Research. Duties and Responsibilities: Teaching: Will teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced level Spanish courses with a 24-30 annual credit hour load. Will work with students to achieve the requirements for a minor in Spanish. Must be committed to growing the program including working with other disciplines across the University. Must be committed to a progressive pedagogy and open to curricular innovation. Service: Will participate in program assessments. Will represent the program at recruiting events. Will assist students in their planning for study abroad. Will serve as Advisor to Spanish minors. Will participate in other departmental, college, and university service as required. Research: Area of specialization is open, but must be related to Spanish.
