The Department of Statistics in the School of Arts and Sciences is seeking a Post-Doctoral Associate for a grant funded one-year appointment starting September 1, 2020 working with Professor Michael Stein. A second year of funding may be possible. Responsibilities for the successful candidate will be to work on a project chosen in consultation with Professor Stein that supports the research agenda of MACSER. Ability to develop innovative statistical methods and implement them is essential. A PhD in Statistics or a related field by September 1, 2020 is required. Research interests in statistical extremes and/or statistical models for space-time processes, as well as the computational problems arising in these areas and their application to environmental or energy statistics is highly desired. The successful candidate must also demonstrate innovative thinking and the ability to work independently.
