Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families by performing clinical processes that result in the management of efficient patient flow in examination, consultation and treatment rooms. Selected candidate must excel in patient intake, information gathering, direct patient care, data entry, patient preparation for visits/procedures, and clinical support to providers. Other responsibilities include: taking vital signs, injections, EKGs, performing and or assisting simple diagnostic tests and procedures, collecting specimens, sterilization/cleaning of equipment, supply stocking, and maintenance of patient care areas. Operate and monitor patient care equipment; set up instruments/supplies in exam and treatment rooms and provide information to patients as directed. Perform patient care administrative tasks as needed.
High School Diploma or GED.
Graduation from a Medical Assistant program or an equivalent combination of education and expeirence.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Moderate standing/walking, as well as, lifting, positioning, pushing and/or transferring patients.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills demonstrated by current position as well as ability to work independently and within a team setting.
Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills.
Involvement of process improvement as described in current position
Strong accountability and follow through with clinic judgment.

1 - 3 years of experience.
Certification as a Medical Assistant.
Experience working within a large, complex health care setting.
Familiarity with UMHS electronic medical record systems.
Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
The facility is open 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Monday through Friday, and 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Saturday. We are flexible in scheduling, and request that you are also flexible in working various shifts.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
