The Staff Accountant also serves as the primary backup to the Accounts Payable Representative.This position provides an individual with knowledge of how a university operates financially and creates professional development opportunities within the higher education industry.Required Qualifications:? Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.? Analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in the proficient use of excel spreadsheets.? Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively with multiple constituents within the university.? Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects within or in advance of stated deadlines.? Attention to detail, accuracy, and a high degree of motivation is crucial for this role.? Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.Preferred Qualifications:? One to three years of progressive experience with various general ledger accounting duties in a complex organization.? Knowledge and ability to effectively interpret and apply FASB, GAAP, Federal and State regulations and other applicable accounting standards.?
