Work Conditions:Worker is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.Worker is exposed to dust and cleaning solvents. Overtime and weekend work may be required.
Physical Requirements:Work is heavy in nature and involves exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently. Work also involves lifting, grasping, stooping, climbing stairs, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and driving equipment.
Duties of Position: Responsible for performance of general warehouse activities which is routine manual and clerical work and includes receiving, storing, issuing, delivering, picking up, and shipping of diversified supplies. Duties also include driving a gator, delivery van, and propane, diesel or gas forklifts. Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns within or outside normal working hours. Must be able to work shift work, weekends, and holidays and overtime.
Unloads and unpacks incoming materials, supplies, and equipment, and checks delivered items against purchase orders.Checks, sorts, labels, and stores incoming supplies and materials in appropriate storage area when necessary.
Drives delivery van for on and off campus deliveries and pickups of various types as required.
Delivers orders from requisition. Keeps appropriate records.Checks in returned items.
Assembles orders, wraps, boxes, crates, marks, stencils, and otherwise prepares outgoing shipments.Loads materials, supplies, tools, and equipment on trucks and cars.Delivers and receives supply items.Obtains authorized signature on order acknowledging receipt of delivered goods.
Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of storage and production areas.Sweeps, mops, dusts, sprays, etc., as needed.Empties trash containers and disposes of rubbish.May perform routine filing and clerical duties.
Maintains and performs monthly inspections of vehicles assigned to the warehouse operation - includes gator, forklifts, and electric pallet jacks.
Assists with training associates on the safe use of College owned forklifts.
Performs other related duties as assigned
Educational Requirements:High school graduate or equivalent
Experience Requirements: At least one year's experience as warehouseman. At least five years driving experience.
Licensing: Valid Illinois Drivers License,
