Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) seeks a Lead Occupational Therapist to join the Inpatient Rehabilitation Service at its main hospital in Manhattans Upper East Side Memorial Hospital. Our Occupational Therapy team has the opportunity to help patients throughout all phases of treatment to regain their functional independence and cognitive abilities.
MSK is seeking to hire a licensed Lead Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our exceptional team. We offer world class training within our rehabilitation service focusing on opportunities to develop innovative, therapeutic programs for a diverse patient population. Our highly talented team assists patients throughout their continuum of care focusing on improved quality of life, overall function and independent management as needed. We are looking for an individual passionate about patient-centered treatment, teamwork, and best practice which results in an exceptional patient experience. Strong communication, attention to detail, and participation in a team approach is what MSK therapists provide with each interaction.
Provide highly skilled and creative occupational therapy services to adult/pediatric patients utilizing evidenced-based therapeutic interventions to maximize patient outcomes.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members, including the patient and their family, to ensure optimal patient care is experienced.
Provide leadership in collaboration with management to promote smooth delivery of rehabilitation therapy services for the site.
Provide mentorship through participation in various teaching and learning opportunities.
Engage in projects and activities that support and advance institutional and departmental mission and goals.
New York State licensure as an Occupational Therapist required.
Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy.
Minimum of 4 years clinical practice as licensed OT required.
Experience with oncology population preferred.
Inpatient acute care setting clinical experience preferred.
Work shift varies between 7:30 am to 6 pm, Monday Sunday. A Saturday or Sunday is required in the permanent work schedule. Work days and hours subject to change.
