What will you be doing in this role?
The incumbent answers incoming telephone calls, scheduling and authorizations for appointments, surgeries and ancillary services, patient check-out duties and re-scheduling of follow-up appointments, insurance verification functions, chart/medical records preparation and sorting and distribution of mail and patient information. Giving patient cash pay quotes for cash services. Collecting payments. Advising patients regarding insurance-billable vs. cash services. Applies a detailed knowledge of the areas of assigned responsibility and a general knowledge of the ambulatory/outpatient physician setting and its interrelation with the larger Health System organization. Ensures the timely completion of work assignments in accord with established timelines.
