This position will serve as the initial point of contact with the public for the Department of Medicine. Exercises judgment in applying priorities and procedures in responding to visitors and callers. Provide information and assistance to faculty, staff, and the general public. Under supervision of Office Manager.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a variety of academic and professional staff both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated skill with software, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
Accurate word processing skills.
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload; ability to work independently and use initiative; and to organize and follow through with complex tasks to meet deadlines, in an environment possessing frequent interruptions.
Demonstrated skill and experience providing administrative support to a high volume workload office.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to learn new software and adapt existing applications to efficiently and effectively expedite tasks.
Ability to demonstrate flexibility in the face of changing priorities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of UCI Policies, procedures and forms and on-line systems.
