USC's Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry is seeking a Dental Biller to join its team!
In this role, the Dental Biller will be responsible for but not limited to: processing timely and appropriate billing from payors; determining appropriate charges based on services provided; reviewing patient accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of claims billing for maximum reimbursement; reviewing explanation of benefits from third party payors to determine if payment was made correctly and if denials can be re-billed; interacting with different clinicians onsite on denials; and analyzing reports to ensure timely submission of claims. In addition, the Biller will be providing information to insurance carriers or patients regarding patient accounts, assisting patients with billing problems; maintaining files on documentation such as charge slips; and referring accounts to collectors in accordance with policy.
The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge with Denti-Cal billing and minimum two years of previous experience working as a Dental Biller in the dental field. It is critical for the individual to possess extensive knowledge of dental insurance and rules and regulations related to billing insurance claims. The successful candidate should also have extensive knowledge of insurance claim appeals and coding principles. This individual will be handling high volumes of work and must be able to multi-task and efficiently, with strong attention to detail and have strong communication skills. Basic front desk skills highly preferred. Previous experience working with dental eligibility/preauthorization and dental experience reading therapy notes/records, teeth placement, and teeth placement is a must. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
