To provide comprehensive professional nursing support in multidisciplinary vascular surgery clinic. Coordinate care and follow-up for patients with complex vascular disorders across the care continuum. Provide expert nurse instruction and consultation to members of the health care team. Identify gaps and needs of the patient population and seek to implement interventions to improve patient outcomes. Develop partnerships with other clinical programs to standardize patient care processes. Facilitate and maintain quality improvement / LEAN activities in the FCVC clinic. Provide education and orientation for preoperative patients and families seen in clinic and as inpatients. Performs telephone triage for the vascular surgery patient population.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
Minimum of one (1) year of recent (within the last five (5) years) of nursing experience in Vascular Surgery.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Two (2) years of recent (within the last five (5) years) of ambulatory care nursing experience. This ACS experience must include telephone triage.
Five (5) years of nursing experience in Vascular Surgery.
One (1) year of Emergency Department experience.
Clinical Leadership experience such as a Charge Nurse, Preceptor, or Clinical Instructor.
Participation in unit committees or quality projects that demonstrate the ability to work in collaboration with, and positively contribute, to a team approach to patient care.
Experience with MiChart, EPIC, Aspect, Word and Excel.
Knowledge of the University of Michigan Hospital Nursing policies and practice.
Previous experience with quality improvement / LEAN projects.
Demonstrated accountability/dependability as evidenced, for example, by a stellar attendance record; by completion of mandatories and unit based competencies within an established time frame; by meeting deadlines and completing required work.
Salary & Nursing Framework Level: This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C. Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
