The Media Producer 1 is a part-time position to provide support to staff and volunteers involved in the Husky Sport Program. Husky Sport is a U.S. Department of Agriculture, AmeriCorps, Long Foundation, and private donation funded effort to provide nutritional and physical literacy education to Connecticut children and families of children qualifying for SNAP benefits. The position involves managing the development of Husky Sport digital content and communication to organize activities, tasks and deliverables as well as communicating with agencies and individuals in CT engaged with Husky Sport.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing Husky Sport's digital production team
Creating marketing and communications materials to support internal functioning, fundraising, recruitment, publicize Husky Sport efforts and those of its partners
Offering trainings, professional support, and mentorship to Husky Sport staff
Developing processes and policy suggestions relating to content development for Husky Sport staff and partners
Developing processes and policy suggestions relating to technology for Husky Sport staff and partners
Supporting Husky Sport strategic development and planning efforts
Supporting Husky Sport programming and professional development efforts
Attending weekly Directors' Group meeting, twice weekly Program Leader meetings, individual meetings with other members of the Directors' Group as needed
Bachelor's degree in Sport Management or a related field (e.g., Digital Media Design, Communications) and two years of experience, or the equivalent in years (4-5) of relevant experience/education
Proficiency in wide range of design/production software
Experience in web development
Familiarity with a wide range of digital platforms including social media
Demonstrated experience with nutrition and physical literacy programs with elementary school-aged students, teachers, and their families.
Familiarity with the critical service learning model and critical social thought
This position is part time (50% employed), grant-funded position with excellent benefits.
