The University of Chicago's Adult Epilepsy Center in the Department of Neurology at the University of Chicago is seeking a board certified/board eligible, academic epileptologist to join its faculty as the Neuroscience program continues to expand. The appointee will join the Center's existing group of epileptologists, neurosurgeons and neuroscientists at University of Chicago Medicine. Clinical research experience is highly desirable. The appointee may also be eligible for leadership opportunities in the Adult Epilepsy Center. Academic rank and compensation, which includes a generous package of fringe benefits, are dependent upon qualifications.
The appointee will join a growing neurosciences service line, which includes the opportunity to practice at University of Chicago's expanding clinical locations both in and outside of our main campus in Hyde Park. The appointee will participate in clinical, educational and research activities, including outpatient clinic, inpatient service and involvement with fellow, resident and medical student education. The Adult Epilepsy Center includes an inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit, intraoperative monitoring, and outpatient and inpatient EEG.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) have completed a residency program in neurology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or equivalent, 3) be fellowship trained in Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology or equivalent, 4) be board certified or eligible in neurology, and 5) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois.
