Goucher's Residential Life Coordinator will serve as a live-in, primary administrator for multiple on-campus residence halls. Reporting directly to the director of residential life, this position will provide support, programming, information, advising, and referrals to the Goucher student community. The Residential Life Coordinator will also be responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating up to 25 resident assistants; maintaining a high visibility presence in the residence halls and across campus; and assisting and supervising student staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of residence hall educational and social programs. The incumbent will also advise students on matters related to housing and residential life, which includes mediating conflicts and making referrals to appropriate on- and off-campus agencies for specialized assistance; and following-up on resident concerns.

Different from a collateral assignment, this position will become the expert in one of the following content areas (Emotional Support Animals or Selection & Training). The successful candidate will have a dynamic residential life experience at an innovative liberal arts college. The Residential Life Coordinator will also participate in administrative functions for the department, including the room selection process, seasonal closings, break housing, security and fire prevention efforts, damage billing, facility inspections, and serve as a liaison with facilities management personnel. The incumbent will also serve in on-call rotation which includes responding to emergency/crisis situations and providing related assistance as needed. As a representative of the office of residential life, the successful candidate will serve on various college committees and assist with the development of college-sponsored programs. This is a 12-month position.
Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's Degree. They will have at least one year of experience working in a residential life environment; and possess experience with on-call/duty rotation and crisis intervention in emergency situations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities; and strong oral and written communication skills are required. Applicants must be student-centered and demonstrate a commitment to their own personal and professional growth.
Preferred applicants will have a Master's Degree in student personnel, higher education, counseling or a related field. Candidates must also be able and willing to work evening and weekend hours. Candidates will be subject to a background check and driving record check as a condition of employment.
Compensation for this full-time position includes an unfurnished, one bedroom on-campus apartment; partial meal plan; and free laundry service. Live-in partners and pets are welcome.
