As an RAII in this lab, you are responsible for the care, breeding, and management of laboratory animals. You will perform various animal-related procedures and surgeries, including PCR-based mouse genotyping.
Additional Job Duties:
Provides research support (ad hoc data analysis, hypothesis development, programming, troubleshooting, etc.)
Keeps accurate and detailed records of experiments and results, and assists in identifying and troubleshooting of unexpected results
Orders laboratory supplies and supports laboratory operations in collaboration with vendor representatives
Monitors and ensures compliance with safety standards and procedures
Monitors lab equipment and related records and may oversee use of lab equipment
Assists in the operation of specialized equipment
Assists in preparation of data for publication and/or presentation at scholarly meetings
Budget management and billing
Preparation of laboratory reagents
Plasmid subcloning, amplification and purification
Electroporation and selection of embryonic stem cells
Assist in general laboratory maintenance
Orients research laboratory assistants or lower level research associates and undergraduate student researchers on day-to-day lab operations and routine procedures
