The Director of Student and Young Alumni Philanthropy will join an award-winning and data inspired Strategy team at the Ball State University Foundation. The director will partner with colleagues in annual giving, donor relations, digital philanthropy and alumni engagement to develop a comprehensive plan to increase student and young alumni giving. Success in this position will lead to growth in the number of alumni donors under age 35 which serves as a pipeline to leadership annual giving and major giving in future years and campaigns.
The director holds great responsibility for partnering across the Foundation and University to increase giving among Ball State’s largest group of alumni.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Three or more years of demonstrated successful, professional experience in fundraising, student affairs, alumni relations, marketing or a related field; some project management experience; some experience developing and implementing communication strategies; some supervisory experience. Broad understanding of marketing, engagement and philanthropy by generation, including writing, messaging and social media; sincere commitment to collaborative work with colleagues; approach responsibilities in creative and innovative ways; excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. Additional years of related experience; undergraduate involvement in student activities, employment as a student caller/ambassador or the like; experience with creating digital and social media content; efficient in the use of Raiser’s Edge and/or Fundraising Performance Management.
