The Department of Community Health is searching for a 0.1 FTE ( equivalent to a half day a week) Instructor/Assistant Professor of Professional Practice, Non-Tenure Track in Somerdale, NJ (Camden County) at the RSDM/University Dental Center at Somerdale. This 10 month, CODE Faculty in the Department of Community Health provides support for students, assure timely care for the patients, and serve as a nucleus for interdepartmental faculty communication. This position will routinely perform instructional oral maxillofacial surgery in the clinic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of patient care and ensuring proper post-treatment management, including recare;
Ensure that the standards, policies and procedures of RSDM, as outlined in the Clinic Manual, Radiation Hazard, Infection Control, Patient's Bill of Rights, and RSDM Confidentiality policies, and Quality Assurance protocols are followed at the sites;
Supervise and instruct students in their respective disciplines, by demonstration when required;
Ensure, with site faculty, that RSDM standards for the education of students are maintained;
Understands and adheres to Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) compliance standards as they appear in RSDM Corporate Compliance Policy and Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy;
Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and RSDM regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified;
Other related duties as assigned by CODE Director.
Minimum Education and Experience:
A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited school;
Must possess or be eligible for a New Jersey dental license;
American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABMOS) Certified.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and ability to execute dental procedures in the areas of oral surgical procedures.
Demonstrated clinical and administrative effectiveness including training, experience and competency in the administration of pharmacological and/or gaseous analgesia.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Standing, walking, sitting – some for extended periods of time.
