Rappahannock Community College (RCC) is looking for a Financial Aid Coordinator who will foster student success by providing leadership to a team of four staff members and coordinate the cross-training of the student services team to facilitate the creation of a one-door experience for students as they navigate the process of applying for financial aid. Most of RCC students receive some form of aid that helps them afford college, and as a result this position is crucial to student success. This full-time, professional faculty position directs and supervises the daily functions of the financial aid office. Rappahannock Community College (RCC) invites applications for Financial Aid Coordinator. Reporting to the Dean of Student Development, the Financial Aid Coordinator serves as the Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs administrator for the college. This professional faculty role is responsible for successfully leading and managing financial aid programs, implementing a strategic awarding philosophy to meet RCC's enrollment and retention goals and ensuring the college follows federal, state, and Veterans Administration (VA) financial aid regulations. This role provides supervision, mentoring and training to the financial aid staff as they achieve the organization's goals through a student-centered and service-oriented approach; and generate a spirit of teamwork and collaboration to support and promote enrollment and student success. On a daily basis, the Financial Aid Coordinator is responsible for implementing and administering the awarding of federal, state, and institutional sources of financial aid assistance and insuring that the packaging and awarding of aid, including veteran's affairs, is in compliance with procedures, policies and regulations and addresses student needs. The ideal candidate will be a highly efficient, effective, results-oriented, driven individual with strong leadership skills, business acumen, and the ability to develop, manage and inspire a talented and diverse professional staff. This position also requires the ability to use data to identify interventions that will contribute to enrollment, and enhance student success. Preference will be given to candidates who have community college experience, as well as a successful record of using technology in innovate ways to increase efficiency.
Master's degree required. Knowledge of Financial Aid/and or Veterans educational benefits processing and regulations. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and math skills. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and multi-task. Demonstrated ability to analyze information and interpret technical information. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a diverse population of students, parents, faculty, and administrators. Extensive experience with PeopleSoft SIS and basic query training. Able to travel on occasion to RCC's off campus sites and to high schools in the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck. Must be able to work flexible hours to include occasional evenings and weekends. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
