Our research focuses on allosteric drug discovery, directed against a wide range of enzymatic drug targets, with disease foci including anti-infectives, cancer and Parkinson's disease. Our work in structure based drug discovery has often focused on novel approaches in combining molecular dynamics (MD) simulations with cheminformatics and X-ray crystallography, in order to gain better insight into protein-ligand interactions, and provide new platforms for drug-discovery. Our lab is currently supported by two NIH R01 awards focusing on allosteric drug discovery (GM138471, GM097373).

The research group is housed in the College of Pharmacy Building , a state-of-the-art research and teaching facility, recently completed at a cost of $128 million, providing an exciting and unparalleled work environment for conducting cutting-edge drug discovery research. This position will provide numerous opportunities to hone analytical and scientific writing skills, by working closely with the Principal Investigator on grants and manuscripts in the field. Additionally, the postdoctoral scholar's structural expertise will be strongly enhanced in the areas of computational chemistry and drug discovery, and a variety of complementary techniques.
Applicants should have an excellent background in some combination of the following areas: structural biology (preferably X-ray crystallography), protein biochemistry, enzymology, biophysical chemistry, drug discovery and/or cheminformatics.
