The Parrish lab in the Department of Biology at the University of Washington is looking for 2-3 enthusiastic postdocs to join our lab in the University of Washington's Department of Biology studying somatosensory neuron development in Drosophila. The position/s is a full time 100% FTE Postdoctoral Scholar with an annual service period of 12 months.This is a non-tenured position and is not eligible for promotion. Current projects focus on functional and developmental coupling of epidermal cells to somatosensory neurons as well as growth control of somatosensory neurons. We apply several advanced techniques including live imaging of neuron development and animal behavior, optogenetics, RNA-seq analysis, fly genetics, super-resolution microscopy and biophysical methods. The position is fully funded for at least 2 years.

We seek: individuals with a solid background in neurobiology, cell/developmental biology, and/or molecular biology. We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in advanced imaging techniques including calcium imaging, electrophysiology, and/or RNA-seq analysis. Knowledge in Drosophila genetics would be beneficial, but is not required.
