The Department of Urology at OHSU is committed to providing the highest quality, state-of-the-art care for adult urology patients. This position is located in the Adult Urology clinic in CHH on the South Waterfront.
This position is an integral part of the Department of Urology, supporting the department objectives of clinical care, quality assurance, education and research. The PAS Resource Specialist is responsible for access management of new patients, processing incoming referrals both internal and external, performing all managed care duties to ensure successful reimbursements for services, and scheduling patients for clinics, doing so to the highest level of customer service excellence standards.
One year of experience in a medical office setting, including high-volume direct patient contact, scheduling of appointments and obtaining managed care authorizations
Thorough knowledge of PAS policies and procedures
Demonstrated advanced PAS user skills as well as extensive knowledge of integrated care
Proficient with managed care functions including eligibility issues, authorizations, referrals and TOS payments/collections
Demonstrated exemplary written and verbal customer service and communication skills, including effectiveness in customer confrontational interactions
Basic computer skills including word processing, Windows applications, on-line scheduling and a preference for database skills
Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
Demonstrable record of reliable attendance, punctuality and proven successful performance at past and present employers
Two years experience in a high-volume medical office
Experience in a Urology service
