The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) division seeks non-tenure track adjunct faculty to develop and teach 485.720 Leadership: A developmental Process for online delivery within the MA in Organizational Leadership program. Online course development is scheduled from May 2020 to August 2020 for the Fall 2020 semester delivery. The course will run from September 2020 to December 2020. Candidates with online course development and teaching experience and those with experience teaching and engaging students from diverse backgrounds are of particular interest.
485.720 Leadership: A Developmental Process
The theory of developmental leadership encompasses three basic assumptions: leadership skills can be learned, the individual is the focus, and many leadership roles exist. This course explores the elements of a successful developmental process for leaders in organizations. Students will learn the characteristics of effective leaders and examine the impact of cognition and emotion on individual behaviors and attitudes. Through the case study method, students will examine the following areas of leadership development: information and communication, decision-making, interpersonal relationships, personal resources, and effective use of self.
An advanced degree in Organizational Leadership or in a relevant field, such as management, organizational psychology, business, political science, or sociology, with a master's degree at minimum
Five years professional work experience within the relevant fields
A terminal degree in Organizational Leadership or in a relevant field, such as management, organizational psychology, business, political science, or sociology
1-3 years of graduate level teaching experience
Online course development and teaching experience
The background to teach a wide variety of courses in Organizational Leadership.
