Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Clinic Services Representative II for department of OB/GYN at the Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The Clinic Services Representative II performs a variety of patient registration, billing and collection duties in support of Clinical Operations. This position greets and registers patients, schedules appointments, responds to routine inquiries regarding a number of operating and billing issues, receives patient payments, performs administrative tasks as assigned to support effective and efficient office operations.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Answers routine inquiries regarding physicians’ qualifications, available appointment times, directions to facility, etc. in accordance with written policies, refers more complex questions as appropriate in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Utilizes computer to schedule patient appointments for a variety of providers in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with written policies and guidelines.
Maintains Computer Databases entering changes in demographic, insurance, and other information as required.
Processes, researches and answers routine telephone and written inquiries from patients in a timely manner. Provides information in person, in writing or by telephone in response to inquiries and in accordance with due concern for patient confidentiality and the surrounding circumstances.
Collects payment from patients, posts payments to the financial system, reconciles credit balance, collects outstanding patient balances and performs other routine operational tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Monitors patient flow, and communicates with any issues or problems that arise with the clinical staff; seeks assistance from clinical staff, when communication back to the waiting room is needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of medical terminology.
The ability to function in a team environment.
Basic word processing and computer skills.
At least two (2) years of relevant experience in a medical office setting.
Must be able to travel to multiple sites.
