This position will serve as both the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) to the VCCS Shared Services Center (SSC) located in Daleville Virginia and as Enterprise Architect for the VCCS working primarily out of the Richmond Office. Responsibilities include maintaining a comprehensive VCCS Enterprise Information Technology Architecture for the System Office, SSC and all 23 VCCS colleges enabling business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization. Furthermore the enterprise architect provides technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards, and best practices. ITS Strategy in keeping with the Strategic Plan for Virginia's Community Colleges (Complete 2021) requires that the existing inefficient, silo-based and college-centric systems located throughout the Commonwealth be transformed into a well-designed, efficient, enterprise architecture that makes best use of modern technologies, best practices and efficiencies of scale. This position facilitates the standardizing, simplifying and rationalization of platforms, applications and services to minimize cost and maximize the delivery of mission-critical services and infrastructure. This position will provide senior leadership and serve as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Shared Services Center (SSC). The CTO's role is to align technology vision with business strategy by integrating business processes with the appropriate technologies. The Chief Technology Officer is also responsible for all aspects of developing and implementing technology initiatives within the organization. This position is responsible for local day-to-day technology operations, related technology infrastructure, and information services at the SSC. This individual maintains existing enterprise systems, while providing direction in all technology related issues in support of information operations and the VCCS strategy. This position will assist the VCCS CIO in the planning, implementation ,management, and administration of the SSC's information technology program.
