The Oregon National Primate Research Center (ONPRC) is located12 miles westof the OHSU main campus, and sits on 162 acres of land featuring forested areas, research and administration buildings, indoor and outdoor animal housing, a pond, and 2-mile perimeter walking path. Oregon National Primate Research Center (ONPRC) at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is seeking a proactive and motivated Information Systems Manager who would be responsible for systems that directly support the centers sponsored activity. This position oversees implementation, maintenance, continuous improvement and troubleshooting of the animal electronic health system and billing function in PRIMe (LabKey platform), as well as a number of other management systems. In addition, this position is responsible for the audio-video systems for the center.
Manages employees by communicating job expectations, appraising job results, coaching and motivating employees. Maintains safe and healthy working environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal regulations.
The ideal candidate would have strong customer service, effective communication and relationship building skills. We are seeking an individual that understands day-to-day dynamics of managing a team in a complex organization.
Bachelors degree in information systems or another computer science-related discipline
Minimum of 7 years experiencein the field, with at least 5 years of direct management of IS team
Expertise in database management, systems design, and applications development
Ability to mentor, coach and develop employees
Excellence in spoken and written communications
Demonstrated ability to problem solve and suggest solutions
Demonstrated ability to create an environment of cooperation, teamwork, and motivation through problem-solving and negotiations
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities within appropriate time frames
Ability to interact and develop relationships with the community
Ability to exercise sensitivity and discretion and sill in the resolution problems and conflicts
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities
Demonstrated experience in working within a multi-disciplinary team
Ability to long hours at computer workstations
Able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
MBA with a specialization in management or information systems management
IS management in University/Research environment
