A postdoctoral fellowposition is available in the laboratory of Dr. Brian Peters within the FungalPathogens Group in the Clinical and Experimental Therapeutics (CET) Unit of theUniversity of Tennessee Health Science Center to contribute to our NIH-fundedstudies on identifying host and microbial factors responsible for fungalmucosal pathogenicity and development of novel treatment modalities for suchinfections. Highly motivated applicants with a strong background inmicrobiology, molecular biology, and/or infectious-disease related immunology anda strong record of productivity are encouraged to apply. Previous experience inthe genetic manipulation of Candida albicans (or other fungi) will be stronglypreferred. The UT Fungal Pathogens Group is part of the UTHSC Center ofExcellence for Pediatric Experimental Therapeutics housed in state-of-the-artfacilities and includes four NIH-funded investigators in the area of medicalmycology ensuring a rich and collaborative research and training environment fortifiedby approximately thirty students, postdocs, staff, and faculty.

Dr. Peters' lab is inthe College of Pharmacy at the University of Tennessee Health Science CenterCampus in Memphis, Tennessee within a vibrant academic biomedical communitythat includes Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center, St. Jude Children'sResearch Hospital, and the University of Memphis.
