Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, the Information Security Engineer coordinates, plans, implements, tracks, and measures technical and administrative information security controls for the Medical Education Assistance Corporation (MEAC) and ETSU Health environment. This position is responsible for all aspects of hands-on enterprise information security and compliance.
The Information Security Engineer is responsible for the planning, implementation, tracking, monitoring, measuring, managing, and improvement of MEAC’s and the ETSU Health’s:
Network security environment.
Environment security architecture.
Intrusion Detection and Prevention System/s.
Vulnerability scanning and penetration testing efforts.
Enterprise antivirus/anti-malware system/s.
Security authentication and log system/s.
information security awareness-training program.
The Information Security Engineer also assists the ETSU information security team with developing, testing, monitoring and updating information security management controls such as information security policies, standards, guideline development and assessment, business impact analysis, disaster recovery, business continuity, risk assessment planning and testing.
