The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is seeking a Board-Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to fill a full-time faculty position with a 0.5 FTE Residency Program Director and 0.5 FTE Clinical responsibilities.
The ECU/Vidant Medical Center and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Program is ACGME-approved for 4 child and adolescent psychiatry residents, with two rotating off each year. The program is based in rural psychiatry tenets and residents train in a variety of training sites throughout eastern North Carolina. The patient population is socially, economically and racially diverse and is drawn from Pitt County and the surrounding 33 counties.
Residency Program Director responsibilities will include residency program development and evaluation, resident recruitment and selection; resident evaluation and supervision; course/rotation monitoring and evaluation; coordination of all course and rotation scheduling; serving as the chairperson of the residency training committee; and community engagement with physicians, hospitals administrators and community site coordinators.
There are clinical opportunities in outpatient child psychiatry in community health centers, consultation with pediatric practices, juvenile justice, telemedicine or in resident clinic supervision.
