10+ years minimum professional experience in financial management or a closely related field
7+ years minimum supervisory experience
Demonstrated expertise in core business practices, including financial planning and budget management
Thorough knowledge of relevant regulatory/compliance/reporting requirements, both state and federal
Understanding of and proficiency in navigating computerized financial systems
Ability to set concrete goals, develop aligned strategy, and make data-informed decisions
Impeccable mathematical, organizational, and analytical skills
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to interface with diverse audiences including employees/staff, faculty, students, and the general public
Ability to build consensus, set direction, and lead through change
Desire to work in a collaborative environment with System and institutional leaders, as well as colleagues in other financial affairs departments
Master's Degree in a relevant field strongly preferred
Experience with change management and/or recent organizational redesigns strongly preferred
Experience operating or leading in a shared service setting strongly preferred
Experience working for a tax-exempt organization preferred
Credentials for finance (e.g., Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Global Management Accountant, Chartered Management Accountant) or law/policy (e.g., JD or LLB) preferred
About the Opportunity:
Reporting to and collaborating with the institutional Vice President, Finance & Administration, and supervising the Finance Manager(s), Data Specialist(s), Compliance Specialist, and Customer Support Coordinator within the Division, this position serves as the lead business officer overseeing budget management, financial services delivery, and associated reporting and compliance activities for an assigned institution or portfolio of units.
The successful candidate for this position will have the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule (partially remote and in-office). Periodic campus/system office visits will be required.
