The HMC Department of Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a PATIENT SERVICES SPECIALIST 3 (Full-Time, Day Shifts). The Patient Services Specialist 3 (PSS 3) is considered the PSS expert in Radiology and in Interventional Radiology specialty and will provide guidance to other staff; act as resource for other staff; and identify process improvements and recommend solutions. The PSS 3 has successfully completed all the required PSS training and is proficient in all applicable systems.
Answer, screen, and triage all telephone calls with departmental communication system; utilize departmental pager system and contact on-call personnel and Radiologist as needed.
Schedule Radiology procedures.
Respond to patient questions; provide directions to different clinics, units, modalities, parking, and eating facilities; and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Communicate various types of information to patients, agencies, departments, physicians, and the community such as registration policies, insurance coverage, billing procedures radiology scheduling procedures and guidelines including instruction for different procedures/exams.
Assist patients in completing various documents such as procedure forms for exams and other patient paperwork.
Facilitate patient check-in and check-out, verify patient identity; coordinate obtaining interpreter for patient.
