Addiction Medicine Medical/Fellowship Director
The University of Tennessee College of Medicine's Center for Addiction Science (CAS) is seeking a full time Addiction Medicine physician to join as the team as Medical and Fellowship Director in Memphis, Tennessee. The successful candidate will be given a non-tenure, faculty appointment in the Department that aligns with the specialty of the candidate.
The Medical and Fellowship Director is responsible for leadership, quality assurance, oversight, and overall management of the clinic within the boundaries of state, federal and ACGME accreditation standards. Responsibilities will include:
Planning, organization, quality assurance, performance improvement and oversight of the medical practice and academic program
Define protocols consistent with current medical practice and guidelines to provide high quality care to the patients
Ensure that the fellowship program remains in compliance with all ACGME standards and maintains full accreditation
Provide oversight of the administrative and clinical staff, including faculty physicians and fellows to ensure adherence to set policies and procedures
Serve as a liaison between the CAS, various departments and organizational leadership at UTHSC and University Clinical Health (UCH).
Participation in a broad spectrum of treatment services for individuals with substance use disorders in the ambulatory and inpatient setting, including backup call and consultative services
Recruitment and retention of administrative and clinical staff
Recruitment of Addiction Medicine fellows
Education and supervision of Addiction Medicine fellows, residents and students
Training and supervision of NP/PA providers and staff
Clinical research and quality improvement
Qualified applicants should possess a DATA 2000 (XDEA) waiver for the prescribing of buprenorphine, preferably at 275
An active, unrestricted Tennessee medical license
M.D. or D.O. required
Certification in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine is required
Academic experience is highly desirable.
