The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis Health System seeks to recruit a full-time Complex Family Planning Specialist. The position will be recruited at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series based on experience and qualifications. At the University of California, Davis, we strive to attract, select, retain and develop a diverse and talented workforce who will contribute to the university's mission and vision. We are looking for motivated persons to join our division with six fellowship trained faculty, an active complex family planning fellowship program, a high-volume tertiary level abortion and contraception clinical care program, and a robust research portfolio including clinical and basic science studies with NIH, industry and foundation funding.
Applicants must possess an MD or DO with clinical care experience specializing in Family Planning. Applicants must be completing or have completed a Complex Family Planning Fellowship, have clinical care experience specializing in family planning, and have formal research training through a Fellowship, MPH, PhD or similar degree. Applicants should have or be eligible to obtain a California Medical License. Applicants must have experience with training fellows, residents and medical students.
Chosen candidate will be responsible for clinical care in family planning and general gynecology; oversight of medical students, residents and fellows for issues related to family planning and general gynecology; and participation in a family planning research program to include federal, industry and foundation funding. Obstetric night call coverage is not required but can be included in the position. Candidate will be required to provide mentorship as part of a formal residency and fellowship training program in complex family planning with other responsibilities which may include contracted work with local/regional freestanding reproductive health care facilities or associated programs at partner hospitals.
