Talent Search Advisor will assist middle and high school students with reaching personal, educational, and career goals. The Talent Search Advisor will provide information and counseling services that help students with academic and financial planning necessary for successfully pursuing education beyond high school. Duties: Holds multiple group meetings at the schools. Develop an Individualized Action Plan for each participant. Provide counseling workshops and professional services to participants, including career planning, goal setting, study skills, secondary/post-secondary educational information, and financial aid availability. Maintain comprehensive participant records. Assist participants with college admission and financial aid applications. Compile and submit monthly progress reports to the Director. Provide supervision for all field trip and program activities. Other duties as assigned by the Director. SPECIAL CONDITIONS: This is a grant funded position. Employment will be contingent upon the continued receipt of these grant funds.
Bachelor's degree in related field. Good oral and written communication skills with proven interpersonal skills are also required. Ability to work with at risk middle and high school students. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships with key contacts at targeted high school. Knowledge of general college entry requirements and college preparatory curriculum.
