The Rossier School of Educationâs Research Office seeks a Project Specialist to support the administration of its programs and research activities.Â
The ideal candidate will have training in grant writing and research; have experience with program planning and project management; be familiar with proposal budgeting; have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and enjoy working as part of a team.
Detailed Job Responsibilities
Supports the Associate Dean for Research and Assistant Dean for Research in the development, implementation, and execution of research related strategic plans with the goal of enhancing the Rossier School of Educationâs research competitiveness and visibility.
Assists in the administration and coordination of a variety of research and/or administrative projects, including internal small grants program, lecture series, and research communications. Participates in writing of reports or other documentation of project status and/or administrative activities or project results.
Supports the Rossierâs research centers with general operations and management, including organizing convenings and other events, administrative management of grants, and overseeing center communications. Maintains up-to-date lists of Center activities and assists faculty in seeking external support.
Researches and identifies new funding opportunities for the School. Develops boilerplate grant language and templates to be used in grant proposals.
Interfaces with faculty and/or staff and external contacts necessary to complete project assignments or for information exchange. Resolves problems or questions referred by project staff or administrators.
Develops and maintains electronic databases and/or other records for reporting purposes. Enters and/or verifies database transactions as necessary.
The ideal candidate is detail oriented, has strong administrative skills as well as basic web development skills, and has an interest in scholarly work and public engagement in the Rossier School of Education and Centerâs research area.
Preferred Education:Â Master's degree.
Preferred Experience:Â 3 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Field of Expertise: Experience in the area of project/program management, writing and editing. Proficient with spreadsheets and database software. Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, using judgment and discretion. Ability to meet and manage deadlines, work independently and well under pressure. Possess strong organization and prioritization skills. Experience working in an academic institution and diverse workplace preferred.
