Research Associate II, Controlled Environment Plant Physiology Laboratory
The controlled environment vegetable physiology laboratory in The Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Tennessee is seeking qualified applicants for a Research Associate position.
Typical work duties of the selected candidate may include: *Supporting the PI and graduate students in the design, management, and execution of growth chamber, greenhouse, and laboratory research projects. *Organizing daily technical operations including coordination and allocation of equipment and space. *Analyzing samples using laboratory equipment such as GCMS and HPLC. *Maintaining laboratory equipment and potentially growth chamber and greenhouse systems in good working condition. *Analyzing and reporting results. *Supervising and training students
The candidate will be involved in a wide range of research activities in laboratory and plant production spaces with the goal of improving controlled environment food production yield and quality. This position may require travel to outlying locations (10-15%).
