In partnership with senior management, manages and provides services and operations, and participates in strategic planning for the Veterinary Library.
Reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and working with the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education, the Library Manager oversees and participates in all aspects of library services, manages the library budget, maintains the library website, and participates in strategic planning for the library. The Manager collaborates with other librarians at Tufts University to provide library services and purchase library resources; plans and implements bibliographic instruction and research consultation services; provides curricular and research support for Cummings School DVM, Masters and PhD programs; and is an important member of the Cummings School community.
Master's degree in Library Science
Minimum of 5-7 years' experience working in a library
Minimum of 3 years teaching library research skills
Experience using MS Office
Experience with web site management and HTML coding
Experience with functions of a small library
Experience working in an institute of higher education
Familiarity or experience with veterinary medicine or other health sciences
Familiarity with OCLC software and systems: WorldCat FirstSearch, WorldCat ILL Resource Sharing, ILLiad
Familiarity with Ex Libris library system
Familiarity with SpringShare LibApps
Familiarity with Drupal web site content management
