The position of Lecturer/Program Director for the Health Management programs at the University of Minnesota Crookston is a full-time, 12-month, annual renewable position starting in January, 2021. This position involves teaching primarily online courses and providing leadership within the program, both during the academic year as well as the summer months. The normal teaching load for this position is 9 credits per semester during the academic year, with supplemental salary for summer teaching.
Deliver high-quality online instruction to undergraduate students in the Health Management (B.S) program. This position will lead the development of program goals and objectives; assessment of activities and pedagogy of the programs; advise students; contribute to student recruitment and retention initiatives; and support research and community outreach in health management. The responsibilities also include developing and maintaining strong ties to the health care industry to benefit our programs, student experience and student employment opportunities. Service to the Department, University and/or community is also expected. The position requires regular office hours and engagement in service activities on the University of Minnesota Crookston campus. The Program Director position manages appropriate accreditation efforts, assists in recruitment of faculty, manages internships, coordinates and leads the Program Improvement Advisory Committee, leads curriculum development, and attends various campus meetings and committees as a representation of the program. The Health Management (B.S.) program, is made up of approximately 140 students. The Program Director is expected to help further develop the program; advise students; foster equity and a sense of belonging among all students; and participate in recruitment, assessment, and retention efforts.
Master’s degree in the field of healthcare or relevant business field, such as an MBA, MHA, MPA;
Three (3) or more years of direct experience in health care management;
Effective communication skills;
Record of effective teaching;
Ability the ability to relate complex concepts to diverse audiences and to draw upon cultural and community-based knowledge in teaching;
Possess a commitment to an experiential education philosophy within the scope of the land grant mission;
Ability to read, write and understand English;

Three to five (3-5) or more years of direct experience in health care administration;
Campus and online teaching experience;
Research experience in an academic institution;
