The Director of Research Administration, reports directly to the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration for the Graduate School of Public Health. This position is responsible for shepherding all research activities for the seven academic departments and five Centers in the Graduate School of Public Health. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing school-wide leadership and training to research administrators, reviewing all pre-award materials submitted by departments, and preparing research budget and financial information as requested by the Deans.
Must have excellent knowledge of policies and procedures that govern sponsored research from numerous agencies; and, have a strong working knowledge of sources for obtaining updated policies and regulations. This position regularly interacts with administrators in GSPH units, other Schools, Institutes and Centers at the University of Pittsburgh, and with administrators at other academic institutions, governmental agencies, and corporations. Candidate must possess strong professional communication skills and should be proficient with the PERIS system, Tableau, PRISM and have advanced Excel skills. College Administrator/Department Manager software experience preferred. Directs staff hiring, supervision, evaluations and recommends salary increases.
Master's degree preferred; substitution of education and relevant administrative experience will be considered; knowledge of University of Pittsburgh research policies and procedures preferred; Certified Research Administrator certification preferred.
