Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Clinician III (MHCIII) for the Outpatient Services department in Edison, NJ at Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.
The MHCIII provides outpatient mental health services that demonstrate cultural sensitivity and meet the needs of designated UBHC consumers.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
As observed by the supervisor, assesses treatment needs and provides evidence based treatment in individual, group, and family therapy formats suited to the needs of the individuals served.
Assumes overall case management responsibilities for individuals assigned to caseload as observed by supervisor. This includes interaction with other providers and agencies, as appropriate.
Maintains clinical documentation standards as mandated by UBHC policy and other applicable accreditation and certification entities as confirmed by supervisory review.
Develops and applies knowledge of trends and advancements in the field of practice as evidenced by continuing education records and supervisory observation.
Contributes to and supports goals and objectives of UBHC.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Minimum of a Master's Degree in a Mental Health or related discipline and a New Jersey license, as required by discipline.
Applicants possessing a Degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated competency in treating children, adolescents, adults and families, including those with co-occurring disorders.
Demonstrated ability to assess level of care needs and provide outpatient group therapy treatment.
Sufficient computer literacy to effectively use the electronic medical record (EMR), email, Internet/Intranet.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC).
Experience treating children.
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
May be required to work at least (1) evening per week.
