The Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University was established in 1979 to conduct basic and applied research in robotics technologies relevant to industrial and societal tasks. Seeking to combine the practical and the theoretical, we have diversified efforts and approaches to robotics science while retaining the original goal of realizing the potential of the robotics field.
We are seeking an Intern for Professor Abhinav Gupta's research group. In this role, you will take point on implementing a reinforcement learning agent with the ability to transfer what it has learned to new environments and new tasks while working closely with PhD students in the lab.
Core responsibilities will include:
Attend meetings and participate in various seminars/training classes as needed.
Prepare reports and other dissemination and outreach materials.
Position will take point on implementing a reinforcement learning agent with the ability to transfer what it has learned to new environments and new tasks while working closely with PhD students in the lab.
Other duties as assigned.
Master's degree in Machine Learning/Reinforcement Learning or a related field preferred.
3 years of related experience preferred.
Well Developed Technical Skills required.
Strong experience with the following:
Oral and written communication skills
Familiarity with PyTorch or Tensorflow, fluency with reading cutting edge papers in the field preferred.
Prior experience writing scientific papers and getting them published in journals such as ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS, etc. preferred.
