This position will support the Office Administrator and the Director of the School of Dental Medicine's Center for Patients with Special Needs. Duties include patient and chart management, data collection and analysis, communications with special needs patients, families and caregivers in person, over the phone and with written documentation, and scheduling and confirmation of appointments in person and over the phone. There is interaction with dental students, residents, and faculty. Responsibilities include record keeping of student schedules and grades in the clinic and the didactic course. The position requires computer skills and excellent communications skills. Ability to multi-task and flexibility are necessary for this busy dental practice for special needs adults. This employee will be cross-trained to cover the duties of the Office Administrator during times of absence. Experience with special needs individuals is beneficial. Dental or medical office experience would be helpful.
Associate degree or career training certificate preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills are necessary. Must be able to multitask. Computer skills - proficient with Microsoft Office. Associate Degree or Business Program Certificate preferred. Relevant professional experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
