ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, RESIDENTIAL LIFE , Residential Life Programs , to provide primary support for graduate residential life communities, particularly with a focus on COVID-19 response efforts. Will work with graduate heads of house and staff to address COVID policy compliance concerns in graduate houses; assist with the development of programs to support graduate residential families and their particular needs related to remote work and learning; provide quarantine and isolation support for students in the Eastgate community; and work with graduate residence hall governments to promote health behaviors as a COVID-19 prevention strategy. Will report to the associate dean for Graduate Residential Life.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree, preferably in college student personnel, higher education administration, or related field; two years' experience working in higher education; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; experience and skill with conflict resolution, program development, and writing are necessary; good judgment and sensitivity in understanding and relating to students of various backgrounds; and a service-orientation. Must be able to multitask; demonstrate the flexibility necessary to adapt to a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment; articulate a student development philosophy in a high-intensity academic environment; and function as part of a team and work collaboratively with students, alumni, administration, and local officials. Seek someone who will exhibit strong adherence to best practices, including NASPA and ACPA professional competency areas for student affairs practitioners and CAS standards. Working evening and weekend hours will be necessary.
This is a two-year temporary position with live-in responsibilities. Position renewal will be based on funding and ongoing needs related to COVID-19 campus planning and increased need for graduate student residential support. If renewed, may be relocated to another campus residence hall.
