The CAM Operations Coordinator will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Capital Asset Management department under the supervision of the Management Analyst.
Create and maintain asset records, audit Purchase Order/PREQ and apply payments
Process Gift and Loan forms
Assist units with submitting and correcting documents to asset records
Respond to stakeholder questions regarding assets
Serve as liaison with University departments
As the CAMS subject matter expert, advise in the development and implementation of hardware/software systems
Participate in analysis, design and review of business processes, policies, and procedures
Maintain CAM unit fleet vehicle
Coordinate year-end activities
Conducts physical audits of equipment. Requires physical presence in campus buildings to locate and identify university assets
Promote use of non-capital asset tags for departments to track their own equipment that is not accounted for by financial analysis
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through the first two or three years of college, such as an associate’s degree in a business-related field or in a field related to the area of employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in performing tasks related to the area of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver license and ability to meet University driving record requirements.
Experience using Kuali Financial Systems and related modules – asset management, purchasing/accounts payable
Knowledge of MSU Accounting string
Knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to maintaining/reporting capital assets
Knowledge of basic personal computer terminology and operations and ability to use e-mail and the internet.
