UW Medical Center – Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time (100% FTE, 40 hours per week), day shift CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT to join our Spine Center in North Seattle. Our Spine Center provides a wide range of care, ranging from slipped discs and scoliosis to minimally invasive surgery for tumors and blood clots. The Medical Assistant will perform patient care duties, assist with back office responsibilities, and support patients with a broad range of neurological diseases and disorders.
SCHEDULE: The Medical Assistant will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. This is a no weekends, no holidays position.
Bring patients to exam rooms and document heart rate, blood pressure, height and weight
Obtain patient history, determine patient needs, and prepare patient to see the medical provider
Administer medication and phone in pharmacy refills
Oversee prior authorizations
Administer injections and EKGs
Answer questions and follow through on patient inquiries
Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board; OR equivalent education/experience.
Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation during the probationary period. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment.
