Position Description: Under the general supervision of the Information Systems Director for the division of Summer Sessions and International Education, the incumbent will work on converting the current complex, custom-designed and mission critical web based applications from Cold Fusion to .NET C# MVC based on requirements, and will maintain the new applications, once the conversion is completed. The incumbent will provide input for the preparation of project plans and schedules, as well as recommendations for the databases, data security and resource requirements for the conversion project while maintaining the current production applications and systems. After the migration, the incumbent will develop, implement and maintain the Web based applications, some of which are used by the Student Records System and IT Services. The incumbent will participate in the design and development, and will document and implement new online reports and will provide technical and operational support for all the systems including several Web sites and databases. S/he will help with creating test plans and will work with campus teams on testing various applications. At any given time, the incumbent will need to work on several ongoing projects simultaneously. Some projects will be extremely complex involving multiple external departments such as Student Affairs IT, IT Services, Undergraduate Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, and Accounting and Cash Management. The incumbent is expected to participate in discussions with internal departments and outside organizations and assist in the development of complex applications. Meetings will include both technical and nontechnical personnel. The incumbent is expected to work with the Information Systems Director to set priorities and work in coordination with the team to meet the goals and deadlines set by the Director.
